College Golf Recruiting Advisory

Former College Coach.
Honest Recruiting Strategy.

Strategic college golf recruiting guidance for families seeking clarity, fit, and a realistic path forward.

The Landscape

Recruiting has become increasingly confusing for families.

After more than a decade coaching college golf, I’ve seen how difficult it can be for families to understand where a player realistically fits, when to begin communication, and how to build a recruiting plan that aligns with both performance and long-term goals.

My role is to provide honest evaluation, experienced perspective, and clear guidance throughout the recruiting process — without hype, pressure, or unrealistic promises.

Former college golf coach and current Director of Instruction at Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, New Jersey.

For more than a decade, I coached collegiate golf while working closely with players pursuing opportunities at the Division I, II, and III levels. During my time at Rider University, the program earned its first conference championship in school history and made NCAA Regional appearances while setting several program scoring records.

In addition to collegiate coaching experience, I’ve spent more than 20 years teaching and developing players of varying ages and competitive levels. I currently serve as Director of Instruction at Springdale Golf Club and have been recognized multiple times by Golf Digest as one of the Best Young Teachers in America.

Why I Started This Advisory

Over the years, I’ve seen how confusing and overwhelming the recruiting process can become for families. Between rankings, tournaments, social media, recruiting services, and constant outside opinions, many families struggle to determine where a player realistically fits and how to approach the process strategically.

This advisory was created to provide honest evaluation, experienced perspective, and practical guidance built around long-term fit — both athletically and academically. I believe the best recruiting decisions come from clarity, communication, and realistic expectations rather than hype or pressure.

Success Stories

Two decades of players and families — from junior golf and recruiting through college and the professional ranks — on what it’s like to work with Jason.

Jason recruited Jake to Rider University and has remained a trusted coach, mentor, and advisor ever since. More than ten years later, he was still by Jake’s side as Jake competed in the U.S. Open. Jason genuinely cares about the person as much as the player, and his honest guidance has been invaluable every step of the way. I would recommend him to any family navigating the college golf recruiting process.

When I was going through the recruiting process, I wasn’t one of the most highly recruited players. Jason believed in me from the beginning and gave me an opportunity that changed the course of my career. His impact went well beyond swing instruction — he became a trusted mentor, helping me navigate recruiting, college golf, and important decisions throughout my career. I wouldn’t have accomplished what I have without his belief in me and his honest guidance.

I’ve worked with Jason since 2012, and he’s been a constant throughout every stage of my golf career. From junior golf to college at Towson University and into professional golf, his guidance has extended well beyond swing instruction. Jason has always been someone I could rely on for honest advice, thoughtful perspective, and support when making important decisions. Having someone who genuinely cares about both the player and the person has made a lasting impact.

Before meeting Jason, Ambrose wasn’t sure college golf was the right path. Jason provided honest guidance throughout the recruiting process, helped us find the right fit at the University of Hartford, and continued to advise us when it became clear that transferring was the best decision. His willingness to be there long after the initial commitment made all the difference. Jason has been far more than a coach — he has been a trusted advisor for our family every step of the way.

Jason came highly recommended when we moved to Princeton in 2019, at a critical time as both of our daughters were pursuing college golf. As a Division I college coach, he provided invaluable advice throughout the recruiting process, helping us navigate one of the most important decisions in their golf careers. His coaching, recruiting insight, and honest guidance played a significant role in helping both daughters compete in USGA and PGA national championships and ultimately play college golf.

When I was going through the recruiting process, I wasn’t one of the highly recruited players. Jason believed in me, helped me find the right opportunity at Rider University, and continued to guide me long after I arrived on campus. With his support, I developed into a conference champion, and when it was time to explore transferring, he once again provided honest advice. Jason has been much more than a coach — he has been a trusted mentor and advisor throughout every stage of my college golf journey.
